Tonight I'll share a quick anecdote from our holiday.

Our four-year-old son's derma did not fare well on our trip to Mexico. He suffered through a nasty sunburn and several scraped knees. His skin is now in a lovely scaly stage and we've affectionately nicknamed him "lizard boy".

The other day my preschooler examined the half-healed scrape on his knee for several minutes. He poked at it with his finger and then made the following (somewhat disturbing) observation:

"Hey Mommy! My scab looks just like a piece of bacon!"
